At a slightly rickety table in a university bar, BRIA was born.
Made by three music-mad students, BRIA was created to cover all music, but to especially showcase and empower women or women-led artists. Our name, BRIA, the feminine version of the musical term brio, means with vigour, vivacity or spirit. It’s this same spirit that we bring to every part of BRIA Magazine, and which powers our main mission, to ensure the representation and empowerment of women in music. Our print covers always feature women, and our site will always focus on championing diverse and marginalised perspectives in music.
